www.amazon.co.uk/Count-Duckula-1-3-Complete/dp/B001870VTEI thought it would only be a matter of time before this came out! I wonder what special features- if any- will be included? If there are some decent ones, I'm going to get this one for sure! (But honestly, I'm not getting my hopes up. This IS Fremantle we're talking about.) The cover/box art isn't too bad this time, hey? I rather like it- much more original than before! (Despite the fact that Fremantle got Nanny's arm mixed up AGAIN!!!)

I don't understand why it's so difficult for them to use the images the right way round. Do they use mirrors?

Image> Rotate> Flip Horizontally Too easy. I already posted this on my blog and to be honest I'm not happy, especially since I forked out on the season sets. I am however thinking about swapping them for it one day. As for the cover, I thought it seemed alright at first but then I looked closely. They also released another short DVD with only about 3 eps on nearly 2 months ago.

The weirdest thing is it's almost like they're reversing it on purpose. It makes no sense, surely easier to just stick the stock art on.

I checked out your blog just now, Stace.
I'm not sure what you meant about tracing the logo, what that really means? As for the actual cover art itself, what do you think is terrible about it? I don't think it's cheesy or cheap. It seems rather appropriate and cool-looking, for once, color and all.
Yeah, I noticed it doesn't say anything about special features either. I really have my doubts they're going to have any, or at least any worth while. But since it's the show 20-year anniversary, you'd think they'd have at least an interview or something!

Well, it looks a bit wobblier to me than usual, and trust me, I know a sloppy trace over when I see one. The yellow cobwebs are a nice touch though, I must admit, but the whole package could have been a lot better, and I still don't like the fact that they used the same stock pics over and over. This one in particular seems to have derived from the Waddingtons card game, which is commonly used by makers of unlicensed goods found on eBay.
Maybe it might not look so bad IRL but we'll see.

Its 7discs meaning no extra's disc and im sure the disc's will be the same as the UK series releases which were extra-less apart from season 1. Still..what do you expect from basically a very old cartoon that wasnt massively popular to be honest, not as big as Dangermouse, still season 1 had a brilliant array of extras that both impressed and surprised me hehe

I remember it being pretty popular in the late 80s - I was about 8-9 - Duckula stuff was everywhere.

Well, it looks a bit wobblier to me than usual, and trust me, I know a sloppy trace over when I see one. My thoughts also... I think they did a better job on the artwork on the single-series DVDs. What was the point in doing a trace-over, anyhow? If they have access to the original artwork, surely they could have used that directly!! (also, when they get Nanny's arm mixed up it really irks me!!) But the special fx are cool So I don't mind it so much... And judging by the price, I doubt there'll be any (new?) special features... If there is, I'll be kicking myself due to how much I paid for the single-series DVDs...!

I really do like the artwork for this boxset. Pity about Nanny's sling being on the wrong arm again.
I do wonder that, besides extras, would they show the episodes in broadcast order or production order?
It's a bit of a pity I already got the DVDs for all three series, or else I would've bought this.

It bugs me that the cover art doesnb't represent the show truly, because casual shoppers who've never heard of the show (pity them!) will not be as tempted to buy it as they would with decent art that looks like it was actually on the show.

I think that they should have used the art from the first series DVD, with Duckula raising his arms and looking very very happy!

I like the season 3 cover, good looks and a lovely colour scheme in the sky in the background

Yeah that one had quite a nice background. BTW, this thing's coming out on the 27th of October according to Amazon. Edit: Now released, and apparently it comes with 4 limited edition art cards. Sounds really good, but whether to swap my season sets for this or not...
