Hi
Just wondering if there could ever be a chance of Victor & Hugo being released on DVD? I know that there is 1 episode on a Cosgrove Hall compilation DVD, but I was hoping for any chance to see more.....

No probs - I'll need a new capture device to get the remaining 5 up though, but I'll work on it.

Some kind soul has uploaded the Treasure Haunt episode to YouTube. This is the episode with Duckula, Nanny and Igor
To be honest, I found the standard of writing and animation to be way below that of pretty much any episode of Duckula or Dangermouse, but it's still lovely to see it

Writing is open to debate, personally I love it mainly due to the spontaneous sounding dialogue, but I have to disagree about the animation which I find to be very fluid and lively. Also, thanks for embedding my video there - I have no access to my YouTube page anymore thanks to the crinimal genius of Google+.

Here is an email exchange with Fremantle. This took some doing.
"I am contacting you to see whether you can help me in my quest to attain copies of several cartoon series from the early 90s. The series in question are 'Victor & Hugo - Bunglers in Crime' and 'FantomCat'. They were produced by Cosgrove-Hall Films and ran briefly between 1991-1996 on ITV. They have never, to my knowledge been re-run on a UK channel since then, although V&H did crop up on Australian network 7Ten in early 2010. I have been scouring the internet for years sourcing as many episodes as I can find in order to complete the full set, but I am still missing some.
Apart from Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and Wind in the Willows, it is very difficult to get C-H cartoons on official DVDs. Oddly, Avenger Penguins (another neglected Cosgrove-Hall cartoon) was released on DVD in 2006 by Delta Music (although they still retained the official Fremantle logo and rights notice). I realise that I may be asking too much to ask for the series to be released on DVD (although obviously that would be ideal and I would be willing to help if I can!) but failing that, are they available for download or may I purchase copies of episodes to make my own DVDs with? I just really want to get good 1st generation copies of these classic show. Please reply to me with any advice on how I can go about seeing these shows again. My thanks for your time." Their reply, after bouncing off another department:
"Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your enquiry.
Unless the titles are available on general release via outlets such as Amazon etc then I cannot release complete series but I can make available on DVD selected episodes of your choice.
Depending on what you want and what tape format the episode is on, the price will vary. A private copy of one episode could cost £25 + VAT but go up to £100 + VAT depending on the duration and what the source tape is and if it needs to be duplicated at an external facilities house.
I hope that helps.
Best wishes,
Alex"
Something I'm considering if I can maybe get some people interested enough to chip in. Would anyone care to help me?

Hi Andrew,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I can confirm that FantomCat is not one of our titles. It was an Anglia TV production.
We have the following ‘Victor & Hugo’ episodes:
"Spacial Event" "Water Boobies" "Cowboys and Indiscipline" "Escort Red-Handed" "French Exchange"
I can provide the above 5 episodes on DVD for £75 + VAT. Some of the episodes are on one master tape which helps.
I attach a payment/indemnity form for you to complete should you wish to proceed.
Best wishes,
Alex _______________
Just an update on this.

UPDATE - I now have 2 backers (other than myself) so this will bring the cost down.
