I'm crying my eyes out. I feel like a good friend has just died. What a tragedy that the company who has brought joy to my life has closed. The article is kinda old but it's still very very sad. Here is the link to the poem I submitted on deviantArt.com: ilovecd88.deviantart.com/art/R-I-P-My-Dear-Friend-254081552

Why? How? I can't believe this is true! Sounds like an horrible joke! I can only hope they will continue animation in the ITV company.

I think it closed a year or two ago. Why would something so wonderful end?

Lourdes: I know what you mean. It feels like a cruel April Fool's joke ilovecd88: Love your poem. It really captured the feeling.

Indeed, my dear Steffie! At first I thought it must have to be a joke! Ilovecd88: very touching poem.

I know I just can't belief that they weren't even given a chance either. Now they are closed forever. R.I.P. Cosgrove Hall.

Kid's TV in general was doomed for a long while since it was mostly sponsored by junk food companies; and obviously the UK is getting more and more concerned about kids being overweight. CITV became its own [freeview] channel 5 years ago once it got pulled off the mainstream ITV but that plays the same junk over and over, barely any reairings or anything. CBBC is still on though and I guess it still has its own heap of viewers but BBC doesn't rely on adverts so... Then there's budget cuts [thanks Tories! not], meaning there'll be a lot less British animation than there ever had been apart from maybe Aardman who are still going strong; jobs are hard to get here in general let alone animation ones. What sucks the most is that they've knocked down the studio in Manchester and are building retirement flats over it, just when there's enough of them as it is and not affordable places for us whippersnappers, or something more useful. I don't know what they done with everything that was inside but I do know an Igor statue is still being kept in the ITV studios as well as a Dangermouse head: So that's something. It's mainly all house and antiques programmes on afternoons now and it sucks to see CH go so quietly.
