This is something I have always wondered, even as a kid. Nanny's sling is her trademark, of course... but how and when did she injure her arm in the first place? We know it was before the current Duckula was reincarnated, as seen in the opening. I'm thinking she injured it somewhere between the very first Count and the present Count, and is so scatterbrained (or maybe she got so used to it) that she completely forgot that her arm ever healed. In a couple episodes, she does make reference to her 'bad arm'. (The others probably never remind her, because they are simply used to it too.) As to how, I am stumped. Let's be creative, and throw out ideas!

I guess it's the same reason Danger Mouse has an eyepatch or Victor has a 'beeeeeutiful tie'.

Whatever happened to his eye? In any case, it makes him look mad-sexy! ;D But back to Nanny... come on guys, throw out your ideas! They can be as silly as you want! I would say it was due to her sheer clumsiness, but she doesn't usually hurt herself... just others.

Maybe she just injured it while trying to open a door - hence the reason she now doesn't bother with handles.

Sorry for the delay D: I am usually way up for some errant Nanny gabbing xD
I would think it'd have to be something from before she was immortalized. She's dreadfully clumsy, and probably always has been, lol. Maybe Gaston has a point - long buried grudge towards doors and walls 8)

When I first saw the series, I thought Nanny's arm was in a sling because she's handicapped in that arm.
Yet, she's still able to use her hand. She even used that arm to punch a freaking dinosaur.
Ja, I got nothing *scratches head*

Isn't it obvious?

Ja, I got nothing *scratches head* I actually like the idea of her being handicapped in that arm. It seems to make the most sense.

LOL! Good one my friend! ;D ;D ;D Oh, I love Steffie's "The Necromancer and the Nymph", a lovely and interesting story on the topic, I highly recommend.

LOL, that comic. XD
I always took it as a running gag alluding to the fact that she's constantly crashing into things. So much so, that it's to the point where even if she actually DOES take it off, it seems like she doesn't.

What's oddly funny about that comic is that 'Dave' is portrayed as a human character!

Maybe her arm is just really, really heavy.
