Hey, a month later and look what I'm finally getting around to doing!
So anyways, all about me. I kind of hate doing this kind of thing, hence why it's taken me so long to do this, but I'll give it my best.
So my real name is Courtney, which I'm rather indifferent about whether or not it fits me. I'm 23, and though I currently live in Oregon while I attend Portland State, and was born in Seattle, WA, I grew up in San Diego, CA, and consider it to be my true home. In fact, I've very home sick and want to go home badly. But in the mean time, I'm an English major, as it's always been my best subject, and ideally would like to be a writer of some sort. I think my greatest dream would be to go down in history as some great satirist with the likes of Mark Twain, etc. But we'll see if I'm actually that good. But comedy and satire are subjects near and dear to my heart.
As far as controversial topics go, I'm heterosexual and a Christian, not to mention a vegetarian (though that's probably ok around here, considering the reason for this forum ^_~). I went veg just short of a year ago, a fact that I'm rather amazed by because I wasn't expecting it to last past a week. But now I don't think I'll ever go back, and for the record... Giving up meat was super easy -- much easier than I was expecting it to be. But I digress. I went veg because I've always been a big animal lover. I've grown up with a hodge podge of animals and couldn't imagine life without them.
I've worked for two major theme parks in my life: SeaWorld San Diego and Walt Disney World in Florida. The former was my first job ever (and still my favorite); I worked on the ride Journey to Atlantis when it first opened there. The latter I worked at because I did the Walt Disney World College Program, doing Quick Service Food & Beverage (which is basically fast food) at MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios). It was a great, but trying, experience. I now work in the paint department at a chain home improvement warehouse.
I'm the youngest daughter of three; my parents are still together and my family is your normal dysfunctional one. XP My sisters are both paired off, and I've been an aunt since I was 8.
Hobbies include procrastinating from writing, planning on drawing one day, web site design, reading, and recently I've taken up knitting which I'm becoming rather fanatical about. I'm also trying to become a runner, a process that I've only just started. Wish me luck.
TV shows I love are: Count Duckula (duh), South Park (my favorite aside from Duckula), Scrubs, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, The Twilight Zone, The Girls Next Door (...Don't judge me.), Desperate Housewives, and Psyche because I totally have the major hots for Shawn.
Movies: Song of the South, Star Wars (The Empire Strikes Back being my fav), Wall-E, all the other Pixar movies, the majority of Disney movies, The Dark Knights, ... I'm sure there are others but I'm drawing a blank.
I love music, but individual songs more than specific artists. I also play piano, clarinet, various other percussion, and did a stint as a bassoonist my senior year of high school.
So... I think I've said enough. I guess I can always add more if I need to.
