I know that cartoons of the 80s were quite a bit more lienient, but I'm still rather surprised that Duckula mentioned he wanted a bidet with part of the grant money in 'Town Hall Terrors'. Forget the fact that I'm like "Ok, don't really need to hear that", but still... you know? That's like Nanny just coming out and reminding Ducky-boos to make sure he washes himself you-know-where during bath-time.
I'm guessing that it was sort of an adult-directed quip, one which the kids would probably know nothing about. I mean, esp back in those days, how many kids would know what a bidet is? (Although, in this day-and-age, many kids probably know. I'm betting if the show were to return, that line from that ep would be deleted entirely.)
Anybody else find it odd?

'Town Hall Terrors' - I'm surprised he said it too - seemed a bit lowbrow for 'Count Duckula' to have a bum joke in it.

Did you also notice how it was implied that Scott and Laura were going to sleep together despite not being married yet? ('Igor's Busy Day')I just thought that was unusual for a 'kids' show in the late 80s (or was it?)
Also in 'Manhattan Duck' there's a slightly dodgy joke as Duckula says to Nanny 'I gotta give it to you' to which she responds 'Ooh, not now, thank you!' Slightly 'Carry On' that, I thought.

There is quite a few jokes like these in the series. Some a bit more innocent than others, but the intent is still there.
Here's some I could think of out of my head:
Alps-a-Daisy While Gaston tried to explain to Pierre that they're going to sneak up to the girls from behind and kidnap one of them, Pierre asked if they're gonna pinch the girls' bottoms.
Dr Von Goosewing's Invisible Ray Goosewing tried to stab Duckula with his stake, and poked Nanny's behind by accident. Nanny thought he pinched her bottom, and was flirting with her. She even said that she bets he's a real lady's man.
Hi-Duck Well, I do remember it going something like this:
Nanny: I'm going around again Duckula: Nanny, this isn't the tunnel of love
Castle Duckula- Open to the Public After Igor shocked Nanny for her to regain her memory, she thought he was being...*ahem* romantic.
Funny how Nanny is in most of these jokes, hm?

Here are another two I've found. The Great Ducktective: After Igor(disguised as Great-Aunt Gretchan) asked Duckula if he could take his disguise off, Dr. Potson asked "her" not to as there are gentleman present. Prime-Time Duck: Nanny wept for Igor's poor mother when she thought Igor said he had four fathers.

It's been mentioned a billion times, but just as nanny says that, we can see a full frontal nude of a lady duck in the portait gallery. And we see EVERYTHING!

I don't remember the one from Igor's Busy Day (it's been awhile since I watched that one, as it's my least favorite ep of them all); can you please give me the exact quote? And I always giggle madly at the mentioned lines in 'Manhattan Duck', 'Hi-Duck', 'Great Duck-tective', and 'Alps-a-Daisy' (and I always thought Peirre was gay, lol). Duckula's line in 'Hi-Duck' SO reminds me of something a Phil Silvers character would say, esp Bilko! And, oh my gosh, the very first I heard that in MD, I laughed for almost five minutes straight; I'm not kidding. I had to pause it, until I got it out of my system. My mom even asked me if I was ok. I mentioned this in a seperate topic, but ever notice in Rent a Butler, when Duckula ducks to avoid being kicked by the lady at the desk, it looks EXACTLY like he's looking up her dress. Look where his eyes are. Clearly one of the animators having fun. And Gaston once mentioned the "you sons of naughty penguins" bit in 'Mutinous Penguins'. Can't believe I never caught that before!

What about Pierre's line in Hi-Duck:
'A man, he feels my person with his hands.'
I know it's very immature of me, but every time I hear this, it makes me crack up. ;D
Also, when Duckula and co. are checking in we get a sneaky peek of the check-in lady's cleavage!

'And why does he do that? 'Well, becasue....y'know....Why does he do that?'
I'd ;love to know what Pierre was thing for that little moment!
Oh and we see cleavage all the time in this show and others. In the same episode we see a bra falling out of te suitcase Duckula 'rides'. Even though, technically, birds don't have bosoms - but then they don't wear suits either. But they DO walk on two legs.....tangents again!

Can't think why you'd think that. He's child-like certainly. So when child-like characters say or do something slightly 'adult' it's funny.

Well, I don't actually *believe* that he is, as much as I've just wondered if he's supposed to be. I dunno why exactly, to be honest; I just get the impression he has a crush on Gaston. To be sure, he does looks up to him, admires his courage and brains, and is loyal to him- but I dunno... it almost seems like it runs a bit deeper than that. It's probably just me. I read between the lines too much at times. And truth be told, I think they make a cute couple anyway.

The hero worship thing is funny, but it's kind of spoiled a bit when they're made all out gay etc. Mr. Burns and Smithers, Ren & Stimpy etc. were funnier when it was implied but not stated outright and it's funnier if the characters are clearly both straight. IMHO
