I mentioned this briefly in another thread. So I thought it might be fun to start a thread about it. In my list, the people who I think have very distinctive voices are Vincent Price, Barry Clayton (obviously) and John Hurt. There are many more but it'll be good to see what everyone else can come up with. So, opinions please! Which actors do you think have the most distinctive voices? Mention as many people as you like!

Allen Jenkins and Maurice Gosfield (Officer Dibble and Benny out of 'Top Cat' respectively) and Jack May (Igor of course). They were these people who couldn't do a VAST array of voices but could do at least one that just cannot be imitated dead on.

Charlie Alder and Kath Soucie. Prolific as they are I can really tell when a cartoon character is voiced by them, and that shows that I was far too many [American] cartoons. XP

Yeah, I can usually identify voices I'm really familiar with even when the actors can do a wide array of different voices.

I usually watch movies and tv series dubbed in Italian: it is a really strange sensation to watch the same thing in the original language... I have found the first part of "Dear Diary" in the italian version, what a nostalgia : www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1ctph9BPdgAnd this is an advert of a brand of mineral water, dubbed by Nanny's Italian voice, Antonello Governale: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FO8rY1ByqPc

The most distinctive voices for me are the ones who are known for doing a wide array of voices from various shows. As Stacey already mentioned, Charlie Adler (a HUGE fave of mine), Kathie Soucie, and there's also Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen, and Christine Cavanaugh. (All of these well-known voice-actors have done roles on one of my fave shows, 'Sonic the Hedgehog'; a.k.a. SatAM. Other voices I can immediately identify in most cartoons are Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tom Kenny, and Dan Castellaneta. And, of course, the late Mel Blanc.

I can always spot Daws Butler and Don Messick too even though they could do a tonne of different sounds.

Maurice LaMarche OMG he is The Brain! Absolute favourite! Jorge Roing as the voice of Von Goosewing along with Luis A. Mendoza as Duckula are two of the best voices in Mexican Spanish of all the time. ;D
