I love this short!! So ahead of its time for 1982! The lighting effects are BRILLIANT! This kid has some SERIOUS issues... This was the first project he ever directed, and his very first stop-motion film before the much-later full-length features of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (1993) and 'Corpse Bride' (2005). www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD8uQzu0IL0Vincent Price actually narrated this, which was a huge honor for Burton. See, this is apparently based on his long-time admiration of Price. Btw, anybody else think Vincent resembles Victor from 'Corpse Bride'? O.o

It is fantastic! Thanks for sharing, Shy! Yes, Vincent resembles a lot to Victor... I love all Tim Burton's movies, but my favourite one remains Edward Scissorhands: so sad!

Yes, I agree. Victor and Vincent are quite alike, especially in their expressions. Tim Burton is one of my favourite film producer/directors because his designs are so stylistic and have that element of darkness to them. I LOVE 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'! ;D It is my number one favourite. I cried during 'Edward Scissorhands'. it was so good but really heartbreaking.

Disney- who funded this production, as Burton was working with the company at the time- originally wanted it to end with Vincent's dad taking him out to play baseball. Dis-GUSTING, Milord.
Considering how strict Disney is with presenting "wholesome, family-friendly entertainment", I think they were very good to let Burton have total creative control over this. I mean, when you think about it he got away with a LOT in this! According to Burton, Disney seemed to like it, but had very mixed feelings on it and didn't know quite what to do with it.
This short can only be found in the Special Fetures section of the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' DVD set.

I know, Loudres! He TOTALLY does! Man, I remember him! I read on IMDB that Prince Vince was totally based off him. (Burton worked on that cartoon too, I think.)

Yes, Beetlejuice cartoon is Tim Burton's! ;D I don't know why but Prince Vince and this Vincent made me think of Duckula!

"Vincent Malloy is seven years old He’s always polite and does what he’s told For a boy his age, he’s considerate and nice But he wants to be just like Vincent Price" I loved that film.
