There are times when Duckula seems nearly as stupid as Nanny, which a lot of times makes me laugh and call him a hypocrite when he insults or yells at her for her stupidity. And I'm not talking about his sheer naivity, or the fact that he usually just acts without giving so much as a second thought to his hasty decision.
A good example is how sometimes Duckula will acknowledge Towser's existance himself, or not react surprised at all when he hears mention of werewolf in the Castle by Nanny or Igor... while in other eps, he will seem to forget altogether, and act like it's a huge shock to him. AND most of the time, when Igor or Nanny will let something about Towser slip, and a highly suspicious Duckula's all like "What's this about a werewolf? Igor, do we have a werewolf?" for the HUNDREDTH time or so, you would think by now that Duckula would either remember this conversation between him and Igor, or realize Igor is lying... I mean, he knows how downright sneaky he is, and he has tricked him before. In 'There Are Werewolves at the Bottom of my Garden', Duckula even says "This is not the first time I've heard mention of a werewolve in the castle!" (which surprised me, because he actually remembered for once!), so you'd think he would finally let his suspicions get the better of him and actually get to the bottom of it! (Though Igor would stop him, somehow...)
Here's another example of how downright dumb Duckula can be. In 'Dr. Goosewing and Mr. Duck', when Nanny pours him his Meusli- a new Swiss kind of cereal she's gotten for him to try- he actually asks how he eats it! I mean, I'm assuming he knows the stuff is cereal! He even knows you eat it with a spoon, oh how clever, lol! And he has the nerve to get snitty with Nanny when she answers "With a spoon!" I mean, it was a very stupid question of Duckula's in the first place, and it's not like he was really specific with what he meant at first anyway, so geeze! If I were Nanny, I'd be like, "What do you mean? It's cereal! You pour it in a bowl, pour some MILK on it, and eat it with a spoon! Oh, and if you are still confused, it goes in the mouth too!"
Also, if he sees certain people he's met in the past- villians and crooks- he will totally forget having ever seen them in his life, even if he's had an unfortunate encounter(s) with them in the past!
Anybody else agree with me? I mean, he is obvious WAY smarter than Nanny, but sometimes he seems to lack common sense and memory like her. Anybody else think of any examples?
