Starting a new thread because I'm bored...while my iPod charges up, let's talk about music. Right now I'm bloody obsessed with Enya, and have been for the past few months now. "The Memory of Trees" album is simply one of the most beautiful albums I've ever listened to, and I seriously recommend it. But here's a list of my favourite Enya songs: Book of Days, Pax Deorum, Orinoco Flow, China Roses, The Memory of Trees, No Holly for Miss Quinn, The Celts, Lothlórien, Anywhere Is, Exile and Athair Ar Neamh. Having said all that, I love bands like Nightwish too [Favourite album is Oceanborn!], along with Angtoria [LOVE the songs "The Addiction" and "What the Wise Lady Said"], Within Temptation and Delain. And before I started listening to those, I used to listen to hardcore trance an awful lot, along with normal trance I used to LOVE Scooter. What do you like to listen to?

Music? I love it! I will enjoy everything: from old 60’s Rock and roll, to Heavy Metal and Hip Hop, 40's to 70's, 80's,Techno, Dance, Country, etc, etc. In addition, I love Classic music, especially Baroque masterpieces by Bach who is one of my favourites. I like all his Pipe Organ works (Toccatas & Fugues).
Also I like listening to Folk music from different countries of the world like China, Rumania, Germany and France, being my favourites the traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and England. Sample list: Whisky the Divil, Lilting Fisherman Mug, Twa Recruiting Sergeants, Flowers of the Forest, The Road To Dundee, Amazing Grace and all ones with Bagpipes, Leaving of Liverpool, Rule Britannia March, The Thames Hornpipe, and many others.
What is more, I enjoy listening to soundtracks from movies, cartoons, anime and videogames like the ones played on Castlevania videogames. Castlevania has the most stunning melodies ever; I have to admit that I am obsessed with this videogame (Symphony of the Night and the GBA trio) ;D

I'm a HUGE fan of 80s music- one reason why most movies from that era rocked so hard was the music, IMO. ;D
I also love Nightwish, Celine Dion, Elton John, Josh Groban, and Phill Colins. I'm really into soft/easy-rock, as well.

I have been studying piano for years, and also if I have a completely different job, in my free time I love playing my favourite classic! I play orgue in my church too! Sometimes I play the fragment of the first scene of the "All in a fog" episode Lourdes, you are right, Bach is the best! Then I like Chopin and Debussy. For modern music, I am more commercial: Oasis, Coldplay, Muse, Radiohead, and Tiziano Ferro...

Heh, I play piano too...not very well though, my left hand is incredibly lazy X( I tend to try and play tunes from some of my favourite songs, videogame music and whatever of my own I can come up with...wish I knew how to store music files the way one would store pictures on Photobucket...

Theres all kinds of stuff I like listening to. I know for me, my favorite genre is Classic Rock. I just love all those old 10 minute songs & super long instrument solos. Shame nobody does them like that too often anymore. The lyrics I think are much more poetic/interpretive then a lot of today's stuff too. But then I suppose it can depend on the band too. I definately can't say all new stuff lacks those kinds of things.. Some other stuff I like is pretty various. Some alternative, older pop stuff, some newer pop stuff, rock both new & old, some 80's with a tiny mix of hairband stuff, any decent soundtracks, assorted folk/native music, some of the more classical instrumentals, & any decent new age stuff that's not too floaty. One new age group I've actually grown fond of recently is something called Lesiem. They're pretty Enya-ish with a wierd mix between Evenescense & some Pink Floyd. I don't know if that's everyone's cup of tea.. but for the most part I really enjoy their stuff. Anyway, I saw a few of you mention Enya & Old World-ish stuff so I just figured I'd share. I hope nobody minds. There's also one track I really love that I thought some of you here might like too. It's my favorite actually & reminds me a lot of that old world, gothic-y flavor the show has. Guess I just figured it would be pretty relevant www.4shared.com/file/12166084/a40ca40a/Lesiem_-_Fundamentum.html

Whoa...that's actually a pretty good song...pretty much like the kind of thing I often compose [by that I mean thinking up tunes all the time - I can barely play instruments or figure out how to use sequencers]. For quite a while I've wanted to make up some songs that are like a mix of Enya and Nightwish. Oh, and I'll keep that site in mind for when I want to share my own music in the future

I'm gonna have to bump my own thread just to express my feelings for the new Nightwish song, "Eva" ;D It's a really beautiful song, and I love the new vocals even though they're a lot weaker than older ones. Having that said, Oceanborn will always stand as my favourite album from the band.
