A lot of cartoonists nowadays seem unable to distiguish from stylised and bad. same applies to the art world, unfortunatly it all tends to depend on connections to people / how much of a scene or following you can get. the one 3D thing that bug me is, all those stupid clones, like that finding nemo clone sharks tale, its like the 2 studios (pixar, dreamworks) just try to spin a profit off of each others ideas, and yet people buy into it, goes to show how brain dead their idea's people are.

And the characters are - all - like y KNOW!? They're - like THAT. And it's - OK - it's like - TOO much? (gesticulates pointlessly.) And they're - voiced by - some err, y'know - celebrity? Who -um - y'know - OK - CAN'T provide an array of voices? Sure. Yeah. I mean - what is the DEAL with that?

we live in a society obsessed by celebrity, as my lecturer says we have gone through the technology age, no one cares about if you can do a job properly or you have been trained. It's all about your personality, thats why you have magazines like Hello and OK! because people idolise these people because they are living the life they want to live. I'd love to see a 3D film that totally goes against the grain of mainstream animation, Something that would make people think, hopefully it would get people talking. heres a good example (this is a parody btw) of a bad comic www.mitchclem.com/nothingnice/index.php?pageNum_Recordset2=296

That's better. I can still appreciate the some of the humour despite my ignorance of punk bands. Here's one of my favourites. In a way it reminds me of Duckula (especially one specific episode)

And of course www.deviantart.com/deviation/55459864/Hehe! I'm shameless.

It's bad enough cel-animation is going the way of the dodo, but all animation for a long time now has been designed to appeal only to little kids with ADD... or so it seems, eh? The characters, the so-called storylines, the animation, the humor... mundane to downright horrible.
The thing with CGI is that it's far easier and quicker to produce, and therefore cost-effective. But the overall quality is sacrificed. No genuine care or effort goes into it. It's like people buying cheap, microwave dinners rather taking the time to prepare a nice home-cooked meal.

I agree with you there. Beau Peep is done by the same folk who do A Man Called Horace, gimpneek. Beau Peep is in The Star.

We need someone to do what Jamie Oliver did with the whole microwave dinner thing over here, but for 3D animation. maybe lose the vocab though, pukka myt not work for animation

Cartoons! I love cartoons! I've accepted the fact that I love them and would rather watch them than anything else.
Keeping in mind that I grew up in America in the 90s, here's my list of cartoons I watched when I was younger:
DuckTales Darkwing Duck Animaniacs Tiny Toons SWAT Kats A Pup Named Scooby-Doo The Wuzzles Muppet Babies Dexter's Laboratory Johnny Bravo Cow and Chicken/ I Am Weasel PB&J Otter CatDog Courage the Cowardly Dog The Angry Beavers Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Umm...Okay, I should just stop there.
Of course, some of the shows were reruns by the time I started watching cartoons...
